Forest Stories
New Work
As I emerged from the forest and picked up my brushes, I found it was the light and the birds that captured my attention.
In a clearing in the forest stand some old wattles. Most now are only twisted bare branches, but some are still living. They have been my inspiration for this work. When the light is just right, they are transformed into luminous beings, their leaves shining with burst of sunlight against a backdrop of mysterious shadows.

The dense forest undergrowth is where lyrebirds spend most of their time. But sometimes they get curious and and overcome their shyness to watch the humans.
